Hera Pheri 3, Priyadarshan’s next film, is enmeshed in a significant dispute. Following the news, Paresh Rawal, who had originally agreed to work on the project, decided to abruptly leave it. For the movie, Paresh Rawal, Akshay Kumar, and Suniel Shetty were to work together again. They even reportedly filmed a promotional video. But then Paresh Rawal made the controversial decision to leave the movie. The third installment was produced by Akshay Kumar, who purchased the rights to Hera Pheri. Following his departure from the movie, the actor allegedly filed a complaint against Paresh Rawal, requesting Rs 25 crore in damages. Paresh Rawal has now addressed the same.
Rawal finally spoke about the matter in a post on X, stating that his attorney had addressed the lawsuit. “My lawyer, Ameet Naik, has responded appropriately to my legitimate dismissal and departure. The actor, 69, who played the beloved part of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, stated, “Once they read my response, all issues will be laid to rest.”
Hera Pheri 3 Controversy
The legendary actor was supposed to rejoin alongside Kumar and Suniel Shetty in “Hera Pheri 3”. Priyadarshan, the director of the 2000 original, was also expected to make a comeback. “Severe legal consequences” could result from Rawal’s decision to leave the movie, according to a lawyer for Akshay Kumar’s Cape of Good Films.
“I believe there will be serious judicial repercussions. Naturally, it has harmed the franchise. We have informed him in writing that there are numerous legal repercussions.
“There have been expenses incurred towards the cast, towards the crew, towards leading senior actors, logistics equipment, and shooting of the trailer,” Pooja Tidke, Joint Managing Partner of Parinam Law Associate, which is Kumar’s representatives, said PTI. She claimed that in a January social media post, Rawal made it apparent that he was involved in the initiative.
Paresh Rawal facing legal troubles
For “sabotaging” Hera Pheri 3, Akshay Kumar has served Paresh Rawal with a lawsuit, requesting ₹25 crore in damages. Paresh allegedly acted impolitely by leaving Hera Pheri 3 after signing a contract and beginning the filming in April of this year, according to allegations made by Akshay and his firm, Cape of Good Films.
Paresh Rawal left Hera Pheri 3, but why?
Rawal confirmed on X that he was leaving the movie because he just didn’t feel like it. He explained by denying the rumours that he departed the project because of creative disagreements.
“I would want to clarify that creative disagreements were not the reason behind my decision to leave Hera Pheri 3. THERE IS NO CREATIVE DISAGREEMENT WITH THE FILM MAKER, I REITERATE. The film director, Mr. Priyadarshan, has my utmost love, respect, and faith,” Paresh Rawal remarked.
For Hera Pheri 3, the third installment in the franchise, director Priyadarshan had returned with the promise of bringing back the original cast, which included Akshay, Paresh, and Suniel as Raju, Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, and Ghanshyam. But according to Priyadarshan, Paresh never told him or the team about his choice.
