A stampede-like Incident occurred during a religious gathering at the Sheetla Temple in Nalanda district, Bihar. It resulted in at least eight women’s death and numerous injuries. The catastrophe occurred when a disproportionately large number of worshippers gathered on the temple grounds for worship. It resulted in very crowded conditions that eventually proved fatal for those caught in the accident.
Relief and rescue workers have been sent to the scene immediately as a result of the tragedy. Efforts are now on the way to help the injured and reestablish order. As rescue efforts continue and the injured are evaluated, the current death toll of eight might potentially increase.
Order of Probe
Approved to the incident has been ordered by Bihar chief secretary Pratyaya Amrit. He has also ask the Patna divisional Commissioner and the range inspector general to file a report.
The Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also announced compensation for all the family affected. If financial help of 6 lakh was announced for the dead.

PM Modi Responds with Financial Help
Prime Minister Narendra Modi promised financial support for the families of those killed in the Nalanda disaster and conveyed his sorrow over the deaths.
The prime Minister’s Office (PMO) stated, “The incident in Nalanda district, Bihar, is extremely painful,” in a post on X. I offer my sympathies to those who have lost a loved one. I’m praying for the injured people to heal quickly.
Each deceased person’s next of kin would receive an ex-gratia of Rs. 2 lakh from PMNEF. The announcement further said that the injured would received Rs. 50,000
About Nalanda Constituency
With significant religious and historical significance, the district has drawn sizeable crowds. Drawn attention especially on auspicious occasions, in Nitish Kumar’s seat of Nalanda, a district in the state of Bihar. Authorities have not yet provided a comprehensive explanation of what caused the congestion or whether sufficient crowd control procedures had been implemented prior to the event.
