In the midst of a dispute over the court’s decision to grant conditional release to expelled Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Kuldeep Singh Senger in the Unnao rape case, people protested outside the Delhi High Court on Friday. Raising chants and voicing their objection to the bail order, the protesters gathered close to the court’s grounds.
The Unnao rape survivor and her family have serious worries about Senger’s jail sentence being suspended. That surprising court order sparked controversy and a protest. “I am extremely upset by what has happened today in the court,” thw survival said to the media in response to the court order. She added that after hearing about Senger’s bail terms, she felt “extremely unsafe.”
Activists criticize the decision on the Unnao Rape Case
Yogita Bhayana, a women’s activist, stated that they peacefully petitioned the Delhi High Court to seek justice for the Unnao rape victim. They also said they would demonstrate if justice was not done. “Today we have peacefully come to the high court to appeal the injustice done to our daughter be revoked, and that the petition we are about to file be heard,” she told the media. “We have the right to demonstrate if we do not receive justice,” she added.

The bail order details
In the Unnao rape case, the Delhi High Court awarded former MLA Kuldeep Singh Senger bail (suspension of sentence). He was receiving a life sentence after being found guilty in a Delhi CBI court of raping a juvenile. Relief has been granted to him as long as he provides a Rs 15 lakh bail Bond. He hasn’t been given bail in the victim’s father’s custodial death case, so he will stay in detention. The Delhi High Court is currently considering an appeal and a request for a sentence suspension. In that instance, he received a 10-year prison term.
The high court ordered Kuldeep Singh to refrain from entering the victim’s 5 km Delhi neighbourhood before being granted bail. Additionally, he is instructed to stay in Delhi. He is not allowed to speak with the victim’s relatives.
Victims met the Leader of the Opposition
The family of the victim recently met Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the opposition in the Lok sabha on Wednesday. It is reported that they asked for his support and solidarity in her fight for justice. However, they also reported that they wanted to meet the Prime Minister. The top Congress leader criticized the police for removing her from India Gate while demonstrating against the Delhi High Court order that suspended her molester’s sentence.
According to Congress sources, the survivor asked Rahul Gandhi’s assistance in obtaining a prominent attorney to represent her in the Supreme Court against the former BJP MLA, who was found guilty. Claiming that the family fears violence, the survivor has also asked for his assistance in moving to a different state with Congress’s governance.
