Harvard Foreign Student Ban: Judge Intervenes to Block

Harvard Foreign Student Ban: In yet another legal setback for the MAGA supremo on Wednesday. A US federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s attempt to prevent foreign students from enrolling at Harvard. In order to preserve the status quo while awaiting a final decision, Judge Allison Burroughs granted a temporary restraining order she issued last week to stay in effect until a preliminary injunction is imposed.

Echoing the argument put out by Harvard’s attorneys, the court noted, “People are terrified.” According to the university, thousands of international students are experiencing difficulties. It included about 800 Indian students. Many are looking to move to other schools. Other new students are postponing their enrollment.

A federal court hearing is planned

The warning was sent out in advance of a hearing before US District Judge Allison Burroughs in Boston. There, Harvard sought to have the revocation temporarily blocked. Harvard cautioned that removing SEVP certification would have a “devastating” effect on the university and its academic purpose. It would affect around 6,800 international students, or about 27% of its student body.

There has been a lot of discussion on Donald Trump’s Harvard Foreign Student Ban.

“Harvard must act appropriately.” From the Oval Office, Trump declared, “Harvard is disrespecting our nation, and they are only gaining more and more influence. Instead of 31%, I believe they ought to set a cap of about 15%. People who wish to attend Harvard and other universities are unable to do so because of the presence of international students.”
