India Wins T20 World Cup Final by 96 Runs Beating New Zealand

India won theT20 World Cup for the third time after defeating New Zealand by 96 runs, the highest by any side in the tournament’s history. Additionally, India became the first team to win the championship again. Thanks to four wickets from Jasprit Bumrah and three from Axar Patel. New Zealand was dismissed for 159 in 19 overs while chasing India’s 255/5. Additionally, the Men in Blue were the first team to win the T20 World Cup at home.

With this victory, Suryakumar Yadav became the third indian captain to win a World Cup, behind Rohit Sharma, Kapil Dev, and MS Dhoni. Earlier, India scored an impressive 255/5 in 20 overs with the contributions of Sanju Samson (89), Ishan Kishan (54), and Abhishek Sharma (52).

In the T20 World Cups, the victory also helped India in ending the New Zealand curse. The Men in Blue have lost all three of their previous T20 World Cup encounters with New Zealand. Those took place in 2007, 2016, and 2021.
