Pakistan & Afghanistan Agree To Ceasefire

The Qatari Foreign Ministry said on early Sunday that Pakistan & Afghanistan had reached an immediate ceasefire agreement. It was decided during peace negotiations held in Doha, Qatar. Turkey is also mediating the talks, which are intended to put an end to a week of fierce border skirmishes that left hundreds injured and dozens dead.

Both parties agreed to meet again in the next several days. They will meet “to ensure the sustainability of the ceasefire and verify its implementation reliably and sustainably.” Reports according to a statement from Qatar.

The talk follows scores of deaths from border violence, the deadliest clash between the two countries since the Taliban took back control of Kabul in 2021.
