Air India announced on Sunday that the pilots of the turbulence-affected Phuket-Delhi aircraft had not yet received the result of the post-flight drug test. Following a catastrophic 300-foot altitude drop on an India aircraft from Phuket to Delhi on August 4th, the drug test was carried out in in accordance with policy.
The AI2379 aircraft from Phuket to Delhi experienced mid-air turbulence. It has been identified as the primary reason for the altitude fall.
The announcement from Air India coincides with the fact that a pilot did not pass the drug test.
“We are aware that the pilots underwent a post-flight screening test in compliance with the relevant regulations. However, Air India has not received the test results. Therefore, we are unable to comment on any conclusions.” The company stated in a statement.
The airline also stated that, regardless of any particular flight or operational problem, it routinely tests crew members for drugs in accordance with civil aviation standards. Air India declared, “We will continue to go operate with the relevant authorities as required.”

An India aircraft from Phuket to Delhi experienced “clear air turbulence” on Tuesday. It resulted in a change in altitude. Passengers and crew members were among the almost 14 injured. Later the plane made a safe landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi.
In a statement, the airline indeed confirmed the incident. “Air India flight 379 experienced a brief in flight turbulence related event. Flight was operating from Phuket to Delhi on 4th August. It resulted in a momentary change in altitude.”
“As of now there have been no serious injuries,” it continued. Air India’s airport team and medical staff have sent a limited number of passengers and crew members with minor injuries that require medical evaluation. They’re in an airport medical Centre for precautionary treatment and care.
The scheduled arrival time for aircraft VT-EXO’s flight AI2379 was 11:15 a.m. Several persons on board were allegedly injured when the aircraft suddenly dropped about 300 feet. Statements according to the pilot.
