BYD eMax 7 three rows of seating

BYD India will launch the eMax 7 electric MPV in early October. This is a substantial revamp of the e6 MPV, which was essentially facelifted in 2021. The facelift now also gets updates inside and out, as well as a few added features. It will compete with the upcoming Innova Hycross MPV.

BYD eMax 7: Features

The eMax 7 gets three rows of seating, which differs from the single-height—-only five-seater CONFIGURATION for the former China-made e6 BYD. We will also provide a seven-seater layout for the new MPV. The seating layout will be bad news for the cargo room in favor of a more luxurious c bin. It has leatherette seats, which are much better than whatever is inside an e6.

Next to each other, we expect the closest thing this will have as a rival is the Toyota In Ova. Hycross, which is more prominent in size, summarizes parallel seating configuration. Meanwhile, the Toyota MPV has a petrol-hybrid power ain. The eMax 7 will remain an electric-only m del. Because the eMax 7 will have a few features that will not be available at Toyota BYD. The quirky rotating infotainment screen measures 12.8 inches, one of t m).  Others where it won’t necessarily have an advantage, especially in projected range or charging rate and interface.

In addition, the eMax 7 will feature a fixed panoramic glass roof, an ADAS suite, and a redesigned faux wood/aluminum center con ole. It will also get more upmarket-looking switch gear and a dashboard padded in soft-touch material.

The eMax 7 has two battery pack options internationally – a 55.4kWh unit (420km) and a higher-capacity 71.8kWh model, bringing the claimed range up to about 53  km. With the smaller battery in place, it makes 163hp, and with the larger battery, it delivers 204hp, along with a peak torque of 310Nm for both. Those outputs are nearly double the power and torque of the existing car, which musters 95hp (96PS) and one 0Nm. As a reminder, BYD already fits the e6 with a 71.8kWh battery in India, so we will likely see that same setup offered here. It is unknown whether the 300km pack will be available in India.

 eMax 7: Expected price

The eMax 7 will not be significantly more expensive than the e6, which was priced at Rs. Our sources confirm the eMax 7 is expected to cost around Rs 30-33 lakh (ex-showroom), slotting near the top-spec Toyota Innova Hycross, which can go up to Rs 30.98 lakh for its range-topping ZX(O) hybrid variant.
