RCB Wins Their Second IPL Title; Fans Create Chaos in Hyderabad

In Sunday’s final in Ahmedabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets to keep their IPL title. After being put to bat, the Gujarat Titans set the goal of a total of 156. RCB easily defeated them in 18 overs. This was the Gujarat Titans’ second IPL final defeat. At 75 runs in 42 balls, Virat Kohli was still unbeaten. As a result, RCB became the third team to defend their title behind CSK and the Mumbai Indians.

  • In the first innings, RCB won the toss, sending GT to bat.
  • RCB stopped GT at 155/8 in 20 overs
  • Rashik Salam Dar got 3 wickets. Bhubaneswar Kumar and Josh Hazlewood took 2 wickets each.
  • For GT, only Washington Sundar was exceptional. He scored an unbeaten 50 off 37 balls.
  • In the second innings, RCB chased 156 easily in 18 overs.

Following a havoc, Hyderabad Police Lathi charge on RCB Supporters

Police reportedly made an initial effort to manage the gathering and evacuate the area. However, Cops used a lathi charge to break up the gathering when some people apparently persisted in causing trouble. Following the fans’ departure, the situation was brought under control by the authorities.

For a short while, the episode caused anxiety close to the Secretariat. Later videos of the festivities and police intervention appeared on social media, garnering a lot of attention.

Following the IPL final, cricket fans in Kurnool reportedly staged a similar celebration in the streets. While celebrating the Triumph, some young people allegedly started small fires on roadways and damaged buses’ windows.

In Kurnool, police also stepped in to keep the peace and stop additional harm. Authorities dispersed the gathering and brought the area back to normal.
