Ketan Agarwal Case: As detectives continue to look into the circumstances behind Ketan’s death, a senior police officer told the media, “The accused was apparently not mentally prepared for marriage and was under pressure from her family to accept the proposal.”
Police now believe that Siya Goyal, the fiancée of Pune businessman Ketan Agarwal, was reluctant to marry him and was under pressure from the family to proceed with the wedding. It has changed the course of the murder investigation.
On June 18th, Ketan died after plunging down a ravine at Lohagad Fort, which is closed to Pune. He was allegedly pushed off the cliff as a part of a plot by Siya and her lover, Chetan Choudhary. The police reported. Following, they are detention both were placed under police custody until June 29.
How the investigation played out in the Ketan Agarwal Case

- Ketan Agarwal, 26, director and Chief Marketing Officer of Success Group, family in a real estate company.
- When investigators discovered that Agarwal was a seasoned hiker, they were suspicious of his death. The death at first seems to be an accident. Police looked into electronic data and witness statements after his family filed a complaint and questioned the accident theory.
- Investigators claimed that on June 18th, the day before Goyal’s birthday, she insisted on going to Lohagad Fort. According to police, Chaudhary had allegedly arrived at the fort earlier on a two-wheeler. The couple departed Gahunje at approximately 8:30 am.
- Siya and Chetan reportedly met at a cafe the day before. They met to plot a plan to kill Agarwal and find a location from which he could be pushed. A police officer reported on Wednesday.
- Investigators believe that the area was picked because there are many visitors between Monday and Wednesday. Additionally, police are investigating whether reconnaissance visits were conducted before the incident.
- Chaudhary finished the climb in less than 15 minutes. According to police, he spent less than 10 minutes at the top of the fort. He allegedly carried an employee’s phone and left his own at his store in Pune market yard. He did this in order to evade suspicion. The employee is being questioned right now.
- Agarwal was allegedly forced into a 400-foot gorge, according to investigators. Goyal later told family members and local officials, insisting that it had been an accident
