Yamaha has released updated versions of the R15 and R15M for 2025 in Indonesia. The bikes are the same as those we get in India, save for a few graphics and paint schemes, which could also be offered in our market.
R15M Details
Yamaha has taken the covers off four new colors: Tech Black and Icon Blue, Aggressive Grey for R15 models to the grid while a distinct shade of paint called ‘Icon Performance’ reserved only for YZF-R15M. There are no mechanical updates on these motorcycles, which is expected because both the R15 and, even more so in the case of the MT-15, were already well equipped.
The slipper clutch is standard across the range, along with traction control and quick-shifter, making Trio R15 powered bikes feature-rich in their respective segments.
Both the bikes are powered by a 155cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine making a maximum power of 18h.p at 10,000rpm, and max torque is rated as more than impressive-14.3Nm available from just down to its peaky vibe. A single disc on both ends for braking is mated with dual-channel ABS. The seat height of the bike is 815 mm, and its ground clearance is 1700. The curb weight is 141 kg,, and the tank capacity measures at eleven liters.
Technically, the R15 and R15M are very similar except in cosmetic terms. Pricing for the Yamaha range of bikes starts at Rs 1.83 lakh (for the R15) and goes up to Rs 1.98 lakh (R15M), ex-showroom Delhi, competing with the KTM RC 200, Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 & Suzuki Gixxer SF250.
