This year, Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail has garnered the highest rating of 9.2 out of 10 out of all the global films that have garnered at least 20,000 user votes. The film, which stars Vikrant Massey and tells the success story of a UPSC candidate. It has won several awards for best domestic film of the year.

The Manoj Bajpayee film Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai, the Korean drama Past Lives, the Christmas comedy The Holdovers, and Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3.
After being released on Netflix late last week, interest in 12th Fail has increased. Currently playing in cinemas, the movie has made over Rs 70 crore in revenue worldwide. An impressive feat for a movie of this size. But what has indeed propelled it to the top of the IMDb ratings for 2023 is its OTT release and the adoration that followed from fans. The ratings for other notable Indian films are as follows. Jawan (7.0), Dunki (7.7), Animal (6.8), OMG 2 (7.6), and Salaar (6.7). The website has however a 6.9 rating for Greta Erwig’s Barbie.
All about the 12th fail of Vidhu Vinod Chopra
Based on the life of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who overcame tremendous poverty to become an Indian Police Service officer. The film is a biographical drama and success tale. Along with an ensemble cast, Vikrant Massey and Medha Shankar feature in the Vidhu Vinod Chopra-directed movie. To widespread praise, the movie was released in cinemas on October 27. Despite having only a Rs 20 crore budget, the movie became a sleeper success and amassed almost Rs 50 crore through word-of-mouth. Even though it was already available on OTT, it is still running well in cinemas after 10 weeks of release.
