Aspirants Season 2 Review: Earnest Performances Amid Monotony

Similar to Season 1, the plot of Aspirants Season 2 shifts between two timelines. In a particular timeline, we witness Guri (Shivankit Singh Parihar) choosing to withdraw from the UPSC, and SK (Abhilash Thapliyal) going back to Old Rajinder Nagar to be ready for his last try. He also joins a small institute to teach a topic he is proficient in. Abhilash Sharma (played by Niveen Kasturia) is getting ready for his Civil Service Exam final exam. He becomes friends with Deepa (Tengam Celine), a young woman from Arunachal Pradesh who is also preparing for her civil service exam.

In the other timeline, which takes place five years after the first, Abhilash is a District Magistrate and his former mentor Sandeep Bhaiya (Sunny Hinduja) is an Assistant Labour Commissioner. SK works as a teacher at a school, while Guri, Abhilash’s ex-wife and wealthy businesswoman, is married to Dhairya (Namita Dubey). The heroes in both timeframes are going through a multitude of personal challenges.

What was Good in Aspirants Season 2?

The second season of Aspirants has the correct intentions. The novel candidly depicts the difficulty of three friends who have chosen distinct job routes and experienced divergent growth trajectories to maintain the close friendship they previously shared. Through the five episodes, insecurities and treachery are skillfully shown. Abhilash, Dhairya, and Deepa’s characters in particular have well-developed personalities.

Aspirants Season 2 Review

What fails?

Season 2 of Aspirants is not as interesting and intense as the advertisements indicated. The program has a straightforward tone and few conflicts. The intended effect of the delayed burn therapy cannot be achieved. In the area of production design, Aspirants Season 2 frequently runs into problems. It cannot visually envelop the viewer. Because of the production design, the riot scene, for instance, lacks suspense, which lessens the moment’s intensity and, to some extent, the show as a whole.

Star Performances in Aspirants Season 2

It’s intense to see Naveen Kasturia as Abhilash Sharma. He continues the excellent work he started in season 1. Of all the characters in the program, his character graph is the most intriguing. It’s okay to see Shivankit Singh Parihar as Guri. As SK, Abhilash Thapliyal conveys the impression of being a very skilled actor who is completely in control of his profession. As Dhairya, Namita Dubey is impressive. Sandeep Bhaiya’s Sunny Hinduja does not receive the appropriate attention. Tengam Celine perfectly executes Deepa’s role. The show’s other actors provide strong support.

Final Judgement

Aspirants Season 2

The second season of Aspirants has sincere acting and superior conceptual execution. But compared to its predecessor, it is significantly less interesting and captivating due to its monochromatic storyline. Nevertheless, Season 2 is worth a try for those who have enjoyed TVF’s programming. You can watch the program on Amazon Prime Video right now.
