The Odyssey Starts With Outstanding Opening in the Box Office

Once again, Christopher Nolan has created a phenomenon at the box office throughout the world. At an estimated $257.8 million, his most recent epic, The Odyssey, had the largest international opening of his career.

The movie established a new standard for the Oscar-winning director by surpassing the opening figures of Oppenheimer and The Dark Knight Rises. The Odyssey made around $125 million in North America and about $132.8 million in foreign countries, bringing its total earnings to $257.8 million, according to data provided by The Hollywood Reporter.

The film’s outstanding opening was largely due to exceptional advance bookings, sold-out IMAX screenings, and an exceptionally favourable audience reception.

The Odyssey Box Office in India

The Odyssey is expected to earn around Rs. 25 crore/USD 2.60 million (Rs. 21 crore nett) on Saturday. It set up a tremendous second day at the Indian box office. That would be a significant 30–35% increase over its launch day. Standard format is driving the surge, while IMAX and other PLFs were already running nearly full on Friday. They are predicted to have a more moderate increase of less than 20% today. This indicates that the standard shows have increased by about 50%, which is a remarkable increase.

The two-day revenues for the film will be at Rs. 45 crore / USD 4.70 million approx. It is putting the picture firmly on pace to Rs. 70 crore plus weekend. On the high end, this sum might soar to Rs. 75 crore if the film manages to expand on Sunday as well.
