India vs Pak Asian Games: India won their second straight gold medal in the Asian games men’s cricket competition defeating Pakistan by 19 runs. Batting first, India scored 211/6 on a batting friendly pitch.

Thanks to the half centuries from Abhishek Sharma (61) and Tilak Verma (51 not out). India’s women’s team also bagged gold in the mega event previously.
How did India’s success unfold?
Shreyas Iyer won the toss and elected to bat first while Abhishek Sharma quickly set the tone by scoring 61 runs of just 28 balls. India were 81/2 at the end of the power play keeping the score rate above 13. Vaibhav Suryavanshi fell early, but the momentum of the innings never slowed down. Captain Shreyas Iyer made 21 runs off 24 balls. Ishan Kishan scored 20 runs from off 18 balls. Shivam Dube made 27 runs off 15 balls. Tilak Verma finished the innings in style, smashing an unlimited 51 with 3 fours and 4 sixes off just 22 balls. The contribution from the batsmen Posed India to 211/6. Pakistan’s Arafat Minhas and Ahmed Daniyal took two wickets each.
2nd Innings prosecution fails

Pakistan’s chase looked futile for a long time until Hasan Nawaz scored 96 off 51 balls that came close to winning the match. Saim Ayub was dropped for 29 at 126/4 but Nawaz kept Pakistan alive in the final. Indian bowlers were in form throughout the match. Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, and Shivam Dube claimed to wickets each. Jasprit Bumrah only gave 10 runs in the over. It left Dubey to defend 32 runs in the final over. He only gave 13 runs and removed Nawaz on the last ball, sealing India’s gold medal.
