Highlights of the Delhi building collapse. The municipal corporation of Delhi, (MCD) has been instructed by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to begin a crackdown on illicit construction around the city. Prior actions were scheduled for Wednesday in a number of locations. At New Delhi the building next to the one that fell on 6th September at Satya Niketan is being dismantled. In relation to the building collapse, Sudhanshu, the PG operator has been taken into custodyolice said that more investigation is under progress and that more would be disclosed later.
People taken into custody
One of the two business partners running the PG facility out of the premises Sudhanshu was taken into custody by Delhi Police. In August 2025, the property was leased to the two operators, one of them being Shubham Tyagi. Tyagi is still at large.
Property owners Hariram Bansal (81), his wife Urmila Gupta 75 and 52 year old son Mahesh Gupta, had already been detained by police. Mahesh was remanded for two days in police custody while the couple was placed under court detention for 14 days.

Mahesh is being brought from the South campus police station to appearing court as his police custody expires on Wednesday According to a source, a mason and a building contractor also facing legal action.
Saroj, a labour contractor from Kasganj in Uttar Pradesh, was previously arrested by police. He was purportedly incharge of the buildings basement repair work.
How Satya Niketan PG was functioning
Seven rooms, two on the first, second and third levels, and one on the Fourth, were discovered by the police. The room on the fourth level had been largely transformed into a single room that could house three pupils. There were two stores and abusement on the ground floor.
The PG was running under the name hostel Daze on paper. Before the fall, at least three additional PG facilities in the vicinity were operating under the same name.
