Female athletes have widely criticized an advertising campaign that features American actor Sydney Sweeney. The audience has claimed the af sexualizes women in sports. Sweeney wears little to no clothing in the advertisement for the sports prediction market platform Novig. Football and other sports equipment is strategically placed over various portions of her body. On social media, a number of female athletes announced the advertisement, calling it offensive to women.

According to Front Office Sports, Novig CEO Jacob Fortinsky recently disclosed that Sydney approached the company about working together because she was trying to shift its exclusive focus on sports events contracts. She herself wanted to become a shareholder rather than just be the face of a one-time campaign. In contrast to rivals like Polymarket and Kashi, who provide markets on everything from politics and war to culture, Novig only focuses on sports. Fortinsky claims that this strategy attracted Sweeney to the business and was mirrored in the screenplay of the advertisement.

Sydney Sweeney’s latest Advertisement
The Euphoria star appears to be nude while sporting a variety of athletic gear in the advertisement. She covered herself with tennis racquets, basketballs, footballs, and hockey pads while posing naked. The advertisement went popular on social media when it was released. It was deemed improper and backward for women by a number of users.
Sydney’s most recent appearance at work was in season 3 of Euphoria. Her character, Cassie, made a come back in the HBO series starring Zendaya and Jacob Elordi. The show is available to watch on HBO Max. It received mixed reviews when it was released. She also appeared in the thriller The Housemaid and the sports drama Christy.
