Yesterday, September 26, the nominees for the esteemed International Emmy Awards 2023 were announced. A total of 56 nations from 20 different countries are competing for the honour in 14 different categories. This year’s International Emmy Awards nominees include notable performers Shefali Shah, Jim Sarbh, and well-known comedian Vir Das. These creative powerhouses responded to the fantastic news on social media after being happily surprised by it.
Shefali Shah expresses shock upon being nominated for the International Emmy Awards 2023
Shefali Shah responded to the news on her social media account shortly after the list of deserving International Emmy Award winners was revealed. The thrilled actor is up for the award for best actress performance for her outstanding work as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the Netflix suspense series Delhi Crime.
In a post announcing her nominations, the actress wrote, “OMGGGGG I still can’t believe it. I am really thrilled to be included in this group of renowned artists’ International Emmy nominations. This one is really meaningful since it’s for Vartika Chaturvedi, a character I relate to deeply, and because it’s for my fave programme, #DelhiCrime2. This is for the entire #DelhiCrime community.
Jim Sarbh describes being nominated for the International Emmy Awards as a “honour.”
Actor from Padmaavat Jim Sarbh is undoubtedly a skilled actor. He demonstrates this variety in his performances. In recognition of his outstanding performance as Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha in the famous Sony LIV drama series Rocket Boys, the actor has been nominated for Best Performance by an Actor. He wrote, “I was having quite a weird few days, and then all the pieces wrapped up neatly and I heaved a huge sigh of relief, played a game of sweaty basketball, cycled home in the cold sweet rain, went in for a shower, and came out to all these messages and calls.” He also expressed his happiness on the same day. I raced up to my neighbour, told him about the nomination, and then we started watching Dirty Harry even though I was an hour late.

On the other side, Vir Das has indeed received a second nomination for an international Emmy. He has received a nomination in the best comedy category for his Netflix special, Vir Das: Landing. He captioned the image with “WHAT!!!!!!,” appearing to be quite astonished. For the second time, I was nominated for an Emmy in the category of best comedy. I am SO PROUD OF EVERYONE WHO WORKED ON THIS SHOW, “Vir Das Landing,” and I’m really appreciative to @netflix_in for allowing me to share my experience. Notably, during the next International Emmy Awards presentation, Ekta Kapoor will get the Directorate Award. The special award presentation will take place on November 20 at a New York-based event.
