Kurnool Bus Accident: 20 people were killed and 12 were injured when a private bus from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire in the Kurnool region of Andhra Pradesh on Friday. Around 3:30 in the morning, a Kaveri Travels bus transporting roughly 44 people from Hyderabad to Bengaluru collided with a motorbike on National Highway 44. It was close to Kurnool City’s outskirts. Dr. A. Siri, the district collector for Kurnool, reported that 21 of the 41 passengers had been safely evacuated. 11 of the remaining 20 have had their bodies identified thus far.

According to authorities and passengers who survived, the private bus collided with the two-wheeler, causing the fire to start. An earlier media story had the police as saying, “The two-wheeler got trapped under the bus and hit the fuel tank, leading to an immediate explosion.
