The 2023 ICC Awards have been announced by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for outstanding performances in all formats. The ICC Awards 2023 “aims to celebrate the stand-out performers and moments from the past year of international cricket,” according to an official announcement.
Cricketers of the Year, Emerging Cricketers of the Year, Associate Cricketers of the Year, Spirit of Cricket Award, and Umpire of the Year are just a few of the categories in which the ICC Awards are presented. The 2023 awards’ performance period ran from January 1 through December 31, 2023.
The ICC General Manager and well-known cricket journalists and broadcasters served on an awards panel that narrowed down the candidates for each category. Thereafter, a voting process was conducted with the participation of more international journalists and broadcasters. Voting was also done by cricket fans using the ICC’s online channels.

Winner of the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy
Australia’s captain for both Test and One-Day cricket, Pat Cummins, was chosen to receive the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year 2023. Australia won the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup for a record sixth time, the ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final, and the Ashes under Cummins’ inspired leadership.
Award for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year 2023: Rachael Heyhoe Flint
For the second consecutive year, seasoned England all-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt took up the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Award for ICC Women’s Cricketer of the Year. During the Ashes, she produced some outstanding knocks against Australia.
ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023
Due to his outstanding 50-over achievements, star Indian batsman Virat Kohli was awarded the ICC Men’s ODI Cricketer of the Year 2023. At the home ODI World Cup, the 35-year-old amassed a record 765 runs in 11 matches. In 27 ODIs in 2023, the right-handed hitter scored 1,377 runs. In addition, he took 12 catches and claimed one wicket.
2023’s ICC Men’s Test Cricket Player of the Year

2023’s ICC Umpire of the Year
Richard Illingworth, a former cricket player for England, indeed took home the David Shepherd Trophy for ICC Umpire of the Year. He had already taken home the prize in 2019 and 2022, thus this was his third time winning it. The only other England umpire to receive the esteemed prize is Richard Kettleborough.
