Dolly Parton, a well known country singer and philanthropist passed away at the age of 80 following a brief fight with cancer. Her representatives told PEOPLE on August 25.
Parton passed just 4 days after being hospitalised to Nashville’s Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Centre. However, the cancer kind was not revealed. According to her relatives, she was surrounded by loved ones as she passed away.
In an Instagram video, her nephew Bryan Seaver shared the news, calling Dolly a cherished aunt, sister, and grandma. When the moment came, he added, the singer had urged him years ago to make the news.
In a recent interview, Parton and admitted to having health issues and stated that while she was still healing, she was still determined to finish her work. According to reports, she had also been battling auto immune and renal problems.

Away from the spotlight, Dolly Parton devoted over 60 years to her love for Carl Dean. The legendary country music artist will be buried next to her fiercely private husband, who helped to propel her extraordinary career.
According to her nephew, She will be buried in the Woodlawn Memorial Park and Mausoleum in Nashville. It is the same location where her husband was buried after death in March 2025.
Both the bright celebrity and the village girl who never forgot her origins will be honoured during the burial. Instead of wearing the bulky rhinestone attire usually associated with her public appearance, Dolly Parton is expected to the buried in her trademark high heels and cosy cotton dress.
There are rumours that a modest, private service for her closest loved to ones and her immediate family is being planned in Nashville. Her officials have confirm that she wanted a private funeral. There are no definite plans for a public funeral or a sizeable celebration of life. No date has been announced
