NZ vs. PAK Cricket World Cup 2023 Highlights: Pakistan were given a revised target of 342 in 41 overs (DLS) to win in Bengaluru following a more than hour-long rain stoppage. Rachin Ravindra’s tonne of runs added even more drama to the already intense race for a spot in the top four as fourth-placed New Zealand defeated sixth-placed Pakistan in Bengaluru on Saturday. Having won the toss and chosen to bowl first, New Zealand showed courage early on by promoting Ravindra to the opener slot, partnering Devon Conway. The pair looked strong early on in this 2023 World Cup match, posing a threat to Pakistan’s pacers until Conway (35) lost his wicket in the 11th over, as Hasan Ali struck. The Kiwi batter under-edged Hasan to wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan for a catch.

After making their first breakthrough, Pakistan appeared to be taking the lead. However, Ravindra and skipper Kane Williamson developed a solid relationship. In addition to becoming the first batter to reach three tonnes in his World Cup debut, Ravindra reached his tonne in the 34th over. Williamson, meanwhile, was removed from the game by Iftikhar Ahmed in the 35th over after losing his wicket for 95. However, Ravindra lost 108 games after being replaced by Muhammad Wasim Jr. Following in the footsteps of Williamson and Ravindra. Mitchell and Chapman increased the pressure on Pakistan by using the same formula.

In the 42nd over, Mitchell (29), was however dismissed by Haris Rauf, and in the 45th over, Wasim Jr. claimed the wicket of Chapman (39). After moving New Zealand one wicket closer to 400+ in the 49th over, Glenn Phillips (42) left the pitch with his team at 388/6. With a six from Mitchell Santner (26*) in the penultimate over, New Zealand passed 400 runs and gave Pakistan a target of 402 runs. Wasim Jr. finished the innings with three wickets for Pakistan.
