Shubman Gill Dengue Positive, Unsure for India vs Australia

The Indian team’s worries ahead of their first World Cup game against Australia have increased due to Gill’s health issues. The batter is a dubious starter for Sunday’s game. Ishan Kishan might start in his place if Shubman Gill is unable to do so. There are rumors that Gill, most recently India’s best ODI batter, has a high fever. He would get a dengue test on October 6, according to an earlier report. The test results are positive, according to sources cited by ANI.

Shubhman has been sick since arriving in Chennai. They are doing his exams. His participation in the opening game will be decided after testing on Friday. Under the condition of anonymity, a BCCI source with knowledge of team developments informed PTI. It typically takes 7 to 10 days for dengue patients to fully recover physically, with some cases taking longer. “Let’s not act prematurely. If it’s a typical viral fever, he may be able to play on antibiotics, but it’s entirely up to the medical staff to decide,” the source had previously told PTI.
