Afghanistan briefly collapsed after Adil Rashid shattered the alliance. Gurbaz was run out for 80(57), while Zadran fell for 28(48). Although just one England bowler, Liam Livingstone, returned with a wicket, he was the most efficient, giving up 33 runs in his allotted number of overs. While Mark Wood struck twice, Adil Rashid took three scalps. Reece Topley and Joe Root both came back with one scalp apiece.
